SAMBAR POWDER
Preparation: (Serves 6 - 7 persons)
1. Add 300gms Thoor Dhal in 4-5 cups of water and let the dhal be semi-cooked.
2. Now add 12 Green Chillies, 150gms Small Onion, 3 Tomatoes, 3 Brinjal, 1 Drumstick and other preferred vegetables. Let them cook.
3. Make tamarind water with 100gms of Tamarind in 1 cup water and pour it in. Then, Put 3-4 tablespoons of Kuruthammal Sambar Powder and mix well. Add Salt to taste.
4 Now grind together 1 cup Coconut , 8 Small Onions,1 teaspoon Jeera, few curry leaves and 2 piece garlic into a coarse mixture and add this in and need not bring it to boil.
5. In another pan for tempering add 1 tablespoon Oil, 1 tablespoon Small Onion, few Curry Leaves, 5 Dry red chillies and roast it well. Now add this to the Dhal we already made.
6. Garnish with Coriander Leaves and Village Sambar is ready.
